Do you want to learn how to draw a cute cartoon fish? Fishies aren’t always easy to draw, but after seeing how they are drawn, I bet you will shock all of your friends with your drawing abilities. I  have put together a step-by-step tutorial that will help you figure out how to draw a cartoon fish by using simple shapes to build up this fish’s form. This is an intermediate cartooning tutorial that younger kids, teens, and adults will enjoy. Even some younger children might be able to draw a fish if you stand by to help with the instructions. How to Draw a Cartoon Fish Step by Step Drawing Tutorial for Kids

Step 1

To start off drawing this fish, please draw a shape as shown above. It sort of looks like a triangle with rounded corners (pointed towards the right). Don’t worry about mistakes because you can erase these later. Later, you will be using a pen or marker to outline the ‘right’ lines.

Now, lets draw the fish’s eye. Draw a circle towards the right of the first shape.

Now draw a circle inside the first circle. Try to think of this circle as a pizza pie, and take a slice of pizza out of the pizza pie (as shown above). If it is easier for you to visualize, take a triangle out of the circle. This white ‘pizza slice’ is supposed to be the highlight in the fish’s eye.

Now draw a half circle outside (to the right) of the fish’s face. Try to notice where the 2nd eye is in relation to the first eye so you can imitate the relationship in your own drawing.

Now draw another pizza pizza pie (with a slice taken out of the circle) inside the 2nd eye (as shown above).

Now we will start drawing the fish’s mouth / upper lip. It sort of looks like a peanut shell or a sideways 8.
