Today I’ll show you how to draw a cute baby version of Dr. Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat. I will guide you through the step by step process of drawing this beloved cat. Each step is made up of simple geometric shapes, alphabet letters, and numbers. This cat is loosely based on this Cat in the Hat figurine

(Step 1) I drew the face in blue to show you that these lines are just guide lines and should be drawn lightly. Draw 2 upside down “?” shapes.
(Step 2) Draw 2 ovals for eyes. Draw a line for the bottom of the hat.
(Step 3) Draw more ovals and a sideways “C” shape for the mouth.
(Step 4) Draw an upside down “J”-like shape for the hat. Draw 2 lines for shoulders.
(Step 5) Draw more ovals. Draw a bent line for the side of the hat.
(Step 6) Draw curved lines in the hat. Draw 2 curved #7 shapes for the sides of the body.
(Step 7) Draw a curved line on the hat. Draw “C” shapes for the ends of the arms. Draw an oval for the center of his bow.
(Step 8) Draw zig-zag “M”-like shapes on sides of face. Draw the bottom of a triangle for the feet.
(Step 9) Continue the zig-zags on sides of face. Draw curved lines on arms.
(Step 10) Draw a “J” shape on bow. Draw “?”-like shapes on the hands.
(Step 11) Draw a “U” shape on each hand. Draw a zig-zaggy cloud on his belly.
(Step 12) Draw 2 curved lines below the hat. Draw 2 slanted lines on both sides of the bow.
(Step 13) Draw wiggly lines on ears. Draw a curved line on both sides of his smile. Draw a #3 shape on both sides of the bow.
(Step 14) Draw 2 “S” shapes for the tail – don’t draw the dotted lines. Draw sideways “S”-curved lines on the ears.
(Step 15) Draw long, sideways “V” shapes for whiskers. Draw a “U” shape at the end of the tail.
(Step 16) Draw “M”-like shapes inside wars.
(Step 17) Erase lines that you no longer need and darken remaining lines.
(Step 18) Color in The Cat in the Hat. Use black to scribble the black lines that you see that I have drawn. They are literally scribbles, so don’t worry about being a little scribbly.
