How to Draw and Paint or Color Christmas Lights for Kids or Beginners with Easy Step by Step Drawing Tutorial

Written-Out Step by Step Drawing Instructions

(Step 1) Draw a curvy line – maybe with some loops in it – draw it however you want to.

(Step 2) Draw a bunch of rectangles all over this line.

(Step 3) Paint ovals – egg-shaped is best but whatever you want is fine. You can even use paint and use your fingerprints as the ovals.

(Step 4) Lightly color a little white oval (only lightly) – use paint, pastels, or colored pencils…whatever you choose.

(Step 5) Now draw a dark curved white line on one side of the oval from step #4.

(Step 6) For each oval, choose a darker tint of that colored oval to draw a curved line on the other side of the oval from step #5. So if you are on an orange oval, find a slightly darker tint of that orange…if you are on red, find a slightly darker tint of that orange, etc.

(Step 7) Use that tint again and outline the oval.

(Step 9) If you are using paint, let it dry completely. Get a black marker and outline each oval with black.
