Written-Out Step by Step Drawing Instructions

(Step 1) Draw an upside down ‘?’ shape.

(Step 3) Draw a letter ‘c’-like curved line for the left side of the face. For all blue lines in this tutorial, these are guide lines and these lines need to be drawn very lightly because they will be erased later.

(Step 3) Draw curved lines for the arms and legs. Draw letter ‘C’ shaped ears.

(Step 4) Draw a few more guide lines. Draw a letter ‘m’ shape for the top for the hair.

(Step 5) Draw a letter ‘W’ shape for the bangs. Draw sideways letter ‘M’ shapes for the bow. Draw backwards letter ‘D’ shapes for the eyes.

(Step 6) Draw curved lines on the head for hair. Draw 2 curved lines for the left side of Newt’s coat. Draw a curved line for the nose. Draw a circle for the center of the bow. Draw a letter ‘S’ shape for the left side of his coat.

(Step 7) Draw an oval in each eye. Draw a line on the coat.

(Step 8) Draw a #5 shape, a letter ‘V’ and a backwards letter ‘L’ shape. Draw a curved line on the mouth.

(Step 9) Draw curved lines on the arm. Draw a letter ‘Y’ shape, a #7 shape, a backwards ‘?’ shape, as well as a line in the center of the coat.

(Step 10) Draw curved lines on the sleeves. Draw some lines outlining the legs. Draw a curved line on the left side of his coat.

(Step 11) Draw a curved #7 shape for each hand. Draw curved lines on the ankles and wrists.

(Step 12) Draw a few curved lines. Draw part of the suitcase (a slanted rectangle with one side missing).

(Step 13) Draw wavy line on the left side of coat. Draw a letter ‘c’ shape for each shoe. Draw wavy line above right shoe.

(Step 14) Draw sides of suitcase. Draw a backwards #7 shape.

(Step 15) Ad details to the suitcase and a line to the paper in Newt’s hand.

(Step 16) Draw a square, a circle, and a letter ‘U’ on the suitcase.

(Step 17) Erase guide lines.

(Step 18) Add color to Newt.
