Today I’ll show you how to draw a cute cartoon nativity scene with Joseph, Mary, a sheep, and Jesus in a crib in the manger…and all from the word “Xmas”. This is a fun word toon drawing tutorial for kids around Christmas time. We turn the word “Xmas” into Mary, baby Jesus, Joseph, and a sheep in the manger. Happy Drawing and Merry Christmas.

Written-Out Step by Step Drawing Instructions
(Step 1) Write out the letters in the word “Xmas”.
(Step 2) Draw a curved line on the right side of the letter ‘x’ shape. Draw a curved line on the bottom of the letter ‘M’ shape. Draw a sideways ‘?’ shape on the bottom of the letter ‘a’ shape.
(Step 3) Draw a curved line in the letter ‘a’ shape. Draw a backwards letter ‘c’ shape on the right side of the letter ‘s’ shape.
(Step 4) Draw leaf shaped ears on the sheep (letter ‘s’ is the sheep). Draw a curved line for the face of the sheep.
(Step 5) Draw a circle on top of the letter ‘M’ for Jesus’ face. Draw a curved line in the ‘x’ for Mary’s feet.
(Step 6) Draw a letter ‘C’ shape on the ‘x’ and an upside down letter ‘U’ shape for part of Joseph.
(Step 7) Draw 2 curved lines on Joseph. Draw zig-zaggy shapes for the hay that is under Jesus’ body. Draw 2 ovals for Jesus’ eyes.
(Step 8) Draw 2 lines on Mary for her arms. Draw a curved line on Joseph. Draw rectangle-ish shapes for the Sheep’s legs.
(Step 9) Draw a letter ‘C’-like shape for part of Mary. Draw a curved line on either side of the 2 lines on his head.
(Step 10) Draw some curved lines.
(Step 11) Draw letter ‘U’ shapes and another sheep leg.
(Step 12) Draw letter ‘U’ shapes eyes.
(Step 13) Draw upside down letter ‘V’ shapes for hair. Draw some curved lines.
(Step 14) Draw a letter ‘L’ nose on Joseph. Draw a letter ‘U’ shape for one of his hands. Draw a letter ‘J’ shape for one of Mary’s hands.
(Step 15) Draw an upside down letter ‘V” shape for the top of the manger. Draw some curved lines.
(Steps 16-17) Continue to add some details.
(Step 18) Erase any lines that you no longer need.
(Step 19) Color in if you have the chance to.
