Today I will show you how to draw the cute squirrel from the Ice Age movies. His name is Scrat and he is always losing his acorn. I have broken this tutorial down into 18 steps, so you can draw at your own page. Happy Drawing!
[ad#draw]
(Step 1) Draw a backwards ? shape.
(Step 2) Draw another backwards ? shape. Draw an oval inside the first ?. This is one of his eyes.
(Step 3) Draw an oval inside his eye. Draw an oval for the top of the acorn. Draw an upside down letter ‘j’ shape for the top of his snout.
(Step 4) Draw another oval around the eye. Draw a curved line and an oval for the right eye. Draw a #6 shape for the nose.
(Step 5) Draw an oval and a letter ‘v’ shape for the ears. Draw an oval inside each eye. Draw a curved line over the right eye. Draw a line that curved the way the previous mouth lines curved.
(Step 6) Draw an upside down letter ‘v’-like shape over the oval of the left ear. Draw a line in the right ear. Draw a line for the forehead. Draw two sideways letter ‘L’ shapes for the top of the acorn. Draw a letter ‘U’ shape for the bottom of the acorn. Draw a curved line for the bottom of the nose.
(Step 7) Draw a curved line in the left ear. Draw an oval in each eye, for the highlights. Draw letter ‘v’ and ‘w’ shapes for the teeth. Draw a curved line over the nose. The light blue rectangle you see is a guideline for the fur we will draw in the next step…guidelines are erased later, so draw them lightly.
(Step 8) Draw zig-zaggy shape around the blue guidelines. Draw a ?-like shape on the right of the acorn. Draw half-rectangles for some of the teeth. Draw a letter ‘v’ shape for one of the back teeth. Draw a curved line at the bottom of the nose for part of the snout.
(Step 9) Draw a line at the back of the head. Draw a letter ‘v’ or ‘u’-like shape for the large tooth in the front. Draw an oval on the acorn’s stem. Draw lines for arms – one of them looks like a letter ‘L’.
(Step 10) Lightly draw a backwards letter ‘S’ shape for the tail’s guidelines. Draw lines at the ends of the arms for finger guidelines. Lightly draw a backwards letter ‘J’ shape for the stomach guideline. Draw a #5 and a #2-like shape for the legs.
(Step 11) Draw a zig-zaggy line around the tail and stomach guideline. Draw lines around the finger guidelines. Draw another letter ‘u’ or ‘v’ shaped tooth.
(Step 12) So this is what the squirrel looks like so far.
(Step 13) Draw an oval and a letter ‘v’ like shape on tips of feet. Draw triangles for nails.
(Step 14) Draw letter ‘w’ shapes on the feet.
(Step 15) Draw a letter ‘u’ shape on the feet.
(Step 16) Draw letter ‘u’ shapes for part of the toe nails.
(Step 17) Draw letter ‘v’ shapes for ends of nails.
(Step 18) The drawing is done…color him in if you have the time.
