Learn how to draw a cartoon bird sitting in his nest by starting with the word BIRD. If you can write the word bird, you already are half way done with this drawing. Great tutorial for kids.

(Step 1) Write the word BirD (with a capital letter B and D). Then turn the paper sideways.
(Step 2) Draw a dot in each eye (The letter B are the eyes). Draw a tear drop shape for the wing.
(Step 3) Draw zig zags on top of the bird for the feathers that are sticking on its head. Draw a curved line under the eyes. Draw a sideways letter ‘v’ shape for the beak.
(Step 4) Draw a curved line at the back of the head. draw 2 other tiny curved lines.
(Step 5) Color in the bird.
(Step 6) If you want to, you can add white around the bird (and I also added darker blue on the left and white on the right of the bird. You can also add some messy scribbles on the nest to make it look like a nest.
