How to Draw a Christmas Tree with Easy Step by Step Drawing Lesson

Written Out Step by Step Instructions

(Step 1) Start out by lightly drawing the tree’s guidelines. It should look like a pizza slice (which is really just a letter ‘V’ shape with a curved line at the bottom.

(Step 2 – 5) Lightly draw smaller pizza shapes all the way down the tree, as pictured in the illustrations.

(Step 6) Draw a letter ‘W’ shape at the top of the tree.

(Step 7) Draw letter ‘L’ like shapes all the way down the sides of the tree. Also draw an upside down letter ‘V’ shape on top of the tree.

(Step 8) Draw letter ‘W’ shaped zig-zags all around the curved guidelines on the tree.

(Step 9) Draw sideways letter ‘V’ shapes on sides of star.  Draw 2 lines for the trunk of the tree. Draw tinsel by just drawing curved lines over top of the tree.

(Step 10) Draw 2 horizontal lines (of different sizes) below the tree stump. Draw colorful balls all over the tree for the ornaments. Also curved the tinsel around the tree as I did.

(Step 11) Draw diagonal lines connecting the 2 horizontal lines together. You now have the tree’s pot.

(Step 12) Color in the tree. Outline with black.

(Step 13) Add shading. The tree will look more 3 dimensional if outer areas are darker than inner areas.

(Step 14) Add white and highlights.
