Draw a circle. Then draw guidelines within it. This will help you place the facial features later.
Now lets draw the eyes. Draw a sideways, capital letter ‘D’ shape for the left eye. Then draw a backwards letter ‘C’ for the right eye.

– Draw a lowercase letter ‘b’ shape in the right eye.
– Draw circles in the left eye.
– Draw a capital, letter ‘D’ shape for the nose.
– Draw a sideways letter ‘D’ shape for the mouth.
– Draw circles in the eyes.
– Draw an eyelid on the left eye.
– Draw letter ‘W’ shapes for hair.
– Draw more hair with letter ‘M’ and ‘W’ shapes.
– Draw a letter ‘T’ on the head.
– Draw another sideways letter ‘D’ shape inside the mouth.
– Draw more hair.
– Draw a curved line in the mouth. Also draw a sideways #3-like shape for the tongue.
– Draw a sideways #2-like shape on the chin.
– Draw curved lines on the side of the mouth.
– Draw a #2-shaped body.
– Draw arms.
– Draw a #5-like shape for part of the body/dress.
– Draw oval-ish shapes for hands.
– Draw the left eye brow.
– Draw letter ‘U’ shaped fingers.
– Draw legs.
– Finish up the hands.
– Draw letter ‘U’ shaped feet.
– Draw star-burst-like shapes on the dress.
– Now darken and outline the form of Joy.
