How to Draw a Cute Cartoon Reindeer for Christmas

Here is a simple cartoon reindeer that you will have no problem learning how to draw for Christmas. You can even color the nose red so you can call it Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. The basic shape of the head is made with a #8 shape and the other parts of the reindeer are made with basic shapes as well. Follow the illustrated steps below or use the video if you want.

Step 1

Lightly draw a #8 shape.

Step 2

Then connect the #8 shape around the edges so that you have an eggplant or pear shape instead. You can then erase the inside of the shape.

Step 3

Draw 3 ovals…2 of them eyes, and one of them a nose.

Step 4

Draw leaf shaped ears. Also draw the mouth.

Step 5

Lightly draw an oval for its body.

Step 6

Lightly draw a curved line on top of the head.

Step 7

Then lightly draw 2 short lines along the curved one.

Step 8

Now outline these guidelines that you drew in the last two steps.

Step 9

Now connect the head to the body by drawing a neck with 2 outwards curved lines.

Step 10

Now draw a ? (question mark) shape.

Step 11

Now draw a bunch of lines.

Step 12

Now draw letter ‘D’ hooves. The ones in the back are a bit smaller because they are farther away from your eyes.

Step 13

Draw letter ‘U’ shaped tail.

Step 14

Make it look like the tail is wagging by draw quotation marks around the tail.

Now you can erase any of the lines that aren’t needed any more (The blue lines in my drawing were guide lines and were meant to guide you to drawing the correct shapes but are to be erased at the end).
