Now we will show you how to draw Stan Smith (the father) from Fox’s American Dad cartoon series. Stan is saluting in this picture…and I will show you how to draw him with simple-to-follow, step by step instructions.

How to Draw Stan from American Dad in Easy Steps Drawing Tutorial

Step 1

Start off by drawing the basic shapes that make up Stan’s head – an oval and a rectangle.

Step 2

Now draw the basic shapes of Stan’s body.

Step 3

In a sketchy way, draw a few more details.

Step 4

Now start drawing the actual details…the tie and collar … as well as his eyes.

Step 5

Draw Stan’s chin (using the oval that you drew in the first step to guide you). Notice that there are 2 number ‘3’ shapes in there. Also draw the nose…an upside down number ‘7’ like shape. Draw his mouth…his ear (a backwards letter ‘c’ with a letter ‘J’ like shape in there).
