Today, we will show you how to draw Kai-Lan, a 6-year-old Chinese girl from from Ni-Hao, Kai-Lan on Nick Jr. She speaks both English and Mandarin Chinese, and she is super excited to share her language, her culture, her playtime with her animal friends and the viewers at home. How to Draw Kai-Lan from Ni Hao Kai-Lan on Nick Jr Drawing Lesson

Step 1

Firstly, draw the basic shapes that make up Kai-Lan’s form. Draw a circle for her head….a rectangle-like shape for the body…and stick figures for teh arms and legs. Also lightly sketch the guidelines in the face.

Step 2

Now draw ovals for each pigtail. Draw an oval for each eye…an upside down ‘u’ for the nose, and a curved line for the mouth. Start drawing the outlines of her clothing as well.

Step 3

Start drawing the flowers in her hair by drawing circles around a center circle. Draw 2 ovals in each eye. Draw a circle for her right ear. Draw a letter ‘v’ for the bottom part of each of her dangling hairs.

Step 4

Draw ovals for her fingers and start putting details in her clothing and shoes. Draw her eye brows and the bottom of her mouth.

Step 5

Not just put the details in her shoes and blacken-in her pupil of her eye.

Step 6

Now erase guidelines and darken in the ‘right’ lines.

Step 7

This is what Kai-Lan looks like when she is colored in.
