Alright, Pokemon lovers, today I will show you how to draw a smiling Pikachu. Pikachu is the most popular tutorial on this site, so that is why I keep adding more tutorials with him as the character. Have fun.

How to Draw Pikachu Smiling with Easy Step by Step Pokemon Drawing Tutorial for Kids

Step 1

Start off with a lollipop shape with a cross section. This will serve as your guide to where the facial features will be placed.

Step 2

Draw a large oval below the head for the body.

Step 3

Add two thin oval shapes attached to the body for the arms, and two small “E” shape curves at the bottom for the legs.

Step 4

Add two lines above the head for the ear guide and one zig-zag line at the end for the tail guide.

Step 5

Add some long curved lines at the ear guide to complete the ears. Remember to add a small division on the tip of the ears. Add his eyes, nose, and mouth.

Step 6

Add two curved lines on the back for his fur design and three lines on the end of each of his feet and arms for his toes and fingers.

Step 7

Add some thickness to the tail.

Step 8

Erase your guide lines, add some blackings and you’re done!

Step 9

If you want to go an optional step further, you can color in Pikachu with watercolors, colored pencils, crayons, markers, pastels, or any other art medium you want to use. Use the colors seen in my picture above to finish coloring Pikachu. I hope that you learned a lot and that you had fun.
