How to Draw iCarly’s Miranda Cosgrove … AKA Carly Shay … Drawing Tutorial

Today I will show you how to draw iCarly’s Carly Shay (Actress is Miranda Cosgrove). iCarly is a really cool show for kids and teens and Carly Shay is the lead character for that show. I hope you enjoy this easy step by step drawing tutorial for drawing Miranda Cosgrove.

How to Draw iCarly’s Miranda Cosgrove … AKA Carly Shay … Drawing Tutorial

Step 1

Draw a circle…cut it into half both ways. Then cut it in half again horizontally with a dash this time. Cut the bottom half in half again (vertically) with a dash. Then cut both of those halves in half again with another dash so that there are 3 dashes. Look at the diagram below  to help you with this description.

Step 2

Lightly draw a line from each horizontal dash that you drew. Now draw a second circle…much smaller for the lower part of the face. This one should be drawn so that it meets both of the lines that you just drew. Notice that half of this smaller circle is inside the bigger circle, and half of it is outside of this circle.

Step 3

Now draw the  eyes….notice that to space the eyes evenly, one eye fits in between them. Miranda has very squinty-like eyes.

Step 4

Now draw Miranda’s eyebrows. and upper lid. The upper lid mirrors the top line of Miranda’s eyes. Also draw vertical lines in the pattern you see above…for her eyebrows. The right eyebrow is going to be cut off by her hair anyways, so just do a small part of her eyebrow.

Step 5

In order to help you get the right shape of the nose. First, lightly draw the 3 circles that you see right below the middle dash in the lower half of the circle.

Step 6

Now draw the lines that you see above around the circles…for the nose.

Step 7

Now draw 3 circles at the bottom of the big circle…the 2 outside circles are slightly higher. These will help you draw the lips.

Step 8

Now draw the lip lines around the circles. Notice how far out to draw the lips.

Step 9

Now draw the bottom lip.

Step 10

Now lightly draw an oval at the bottom of the small circle. Then draw the outer face lines….the left side  can be seen more than the right side because of the angle of her face and hair.

Step 11

Now draw the eyeballs….draw a circle in each eye for the iris and a smaller black circle for the iris. Then draw a much smaller white circle for the highlight of the eye.

Step 12

Now draw the eyelashes.

Step 13

Now draw the hair…notice that there is an ear popping out on the left side. Erase the guidelines that you don’t need anymore. This is what the finished Miranda Cosgrove Portrait should look like before colorizing. I did so below.

Step 14

I used pastels and Thin & Thick Pen Brush in Corel Painter to color our picture.
