How to Draw Cartoon Nativity Scene with Baby Jesus in Manger with Mary and Joseph

You will learn how to draw baby Jesus in a manger’s cradle, Virgin Mary, as well as Joseph. I will guide you step by step through the process of drawing this cartoon nativity scene.

How to Draw Cartoon Nativity Scene with Baby Jesus in Manger with Mary and Joseph

Step 1

Drawing Joseph.  Create the basic shapes by drawing a circle for the head, a semicircle for the  eye and mouth, also shoulder. Add a line for the arm and a triangular shape for the body and circles for the feet. Add the cane by drawing  a shape similar to a J.

Before we draw Jesus and Mary, I want to show you how far apart the figures will be…so please look at this picture.

Step 2

Drawing Mary. The process is similar to step 1. Draw a circle for the head, shoulder and hand, then add a triangular shape for the clothes.

So this is what the picture should look like so far.

Step 3

Drawing baby Jesus.  Create a small circle for the head, and nose, also semicircles for the eyes and mouth. For the body, draw a curved shape with a circle. Next, create  a square shape for the manger, add the straw too.

Step 4

Add more details to the drawing, draw around the guidelines and draw the arms and details of the clothes.

Step 5

Erase the guidelines.

Step 6

Add the nose to Mary and Joseph. Add Joseph’s forehead as well. Finish the shoes by adding a line to the back of the foot.

Step 7

Be creative with the colors.
