How to Draw Optimus Prime Transformers in Step by Step Drawing Lesson

For boys and girls who love Transformers, Optimus Prime is usually one of their favorite characters. I have kids asking me how to draw Transformers all the time, so here is a drawing lesson  that many children will enjoy. Find the step by step Optimus Prime drawing tutorial below. Have fun.

How to Draw Optimus Prime Transformers in Step by Step Drawing Tutorial

Step 1

Draw a small circle for his head, a large egg for his chest, and a very small circle for his pelvis. Its important that the chest is large and the pelvis is small to give your robots a large and heroic look.

Step 2

Draw guides for Optimus Prime’s arms. Its important to make the circles for his larger than the ones on his forearm.

Step 3

Draw Optimus Prime’s legs. Make sure the bottom rectangles are large to complete the robotic Transformers’ look.

Step 4

Start drawing the details of Optimus Prime’s face.

Step 5

Then start drawing the details of his shoulder including the Autobots / Transformers’ logo.

Step 6

Draw the details of his chest. Remember that his chest is a car part so draw in the details such as wind shields.

Step 7

Draw his arms and hands. His arms are basically round-ish rectangular blocks. Also draw some lines to put some thickness on his biceps.

Step 8

Draw the robotic swimming-trunk-like details on his pelvis. Draw the thickness on his thighs. Remember to draw the square-shaped armor pads on his knees.

Step 9

Draw the rest of his feet.

Step 10 – Finishing up the Drawing of Optimus Prime – The Coolest of Transformers

Erase your guide lines, fill in your black color of the Transformer’s dark black outline, and you’re done! Now show off your drawings to family and friends. I hope that you had as much fun as I did.
