Saint Patrick’s Day is coming up on Wednesday, March 17th 2010 this year. So it is coming up pretty soon. Now is a great time to learn how to draw 4 leaf clovers (aka shamrocks), so we have put together an easy drawing tutorial for kids, teens, and adults who want to learn how to draw four leaf clovers for St. Patrick’s Day. These plants are said to give good luck to those who find them, as told in Irish tales. This tutorial might be easy enough for preschoolers if you sit down and draw it with them.

How to Draw 4 Leaf Clovers & Shamrocks for Saint Patrick’s Day with Easy Step by Step Drawing Lesson

Step 1

You don’t have to, but it might be easier for you to leave enough room on the piece of paper if you first draw a circle. Then at the top, either draw an upside down letter ‘J’ shape or a half of a heart shape (if you know how to – if not, go to this how to draw hearts drawing tutorial).

Step 2

Now, finish the clover’s leaf by drawing the other side of the heart of another upside down letter ‘J’ in the other direction. See the picture above.

Step 3

Now, draw a line at the bottom of the leaf, as seen above.

Step 4

Now, start another leaf, by drawing a sideways letter ‘J’ or a half of a heart.

Step 5

Now finish up the leaf with the other side of the heart and a line down the center, as pictured above.

Step 6

Now, do another leaf…I messed up and put the line through the bottom. It is no big deal so I didn’t change it.

Step 7

Now draw the last 4 leaf clover / shamrock leaf. You can now erase the outer circle.

Step 8

Now at the bottom-right side of the clover, start drawing the stem…an ‘L’ like shape.

Step 9

Now finish up the stem with a line that goes up and towards the right.

Step 10 – Finished Drawing of a Shamrock / 4 Leaf Clover for Saint Patty’s Day

  • It Helped me a lot
I wrote a POEM INSIDE MINE
    Here's the poem:
    Oh,
    4 - leaved clover
    4 - leaved clover.
    Making my
    wish come
    true.
    Oh, clover
    so rare to be
    found.
    Has magic!
    The clover
    is in my
    heart.
    Every,
    Saint Patricks
    Day,
    We look for
    you.
    Everyone,
    wishes you are
    in their backyard.
    I,
    imagine
    the
    4 -
    lea -
    ved
    Clovar
    as a
    weed
    with
    4 leaves.

  • Just an FYI. The four-leafed clover has nothing to do with St. Patrick's Day. The shamrock (trefoil) is used as a religious symbol to define the Holy Trinity - three into one, not four. A four-leafed clover is not a shamrock.

  • I am 9 years old in 3rd grade this is super easy even though this is never what my art teacher would give us because every time he gave us something easy he asks us if we traced we tell him no but he does not believe us so he started to give us something harder and starts walking around to make sure we did not trace. So he told us last Tuesday that he would like us to free draw something and bring it in this coming up Tuesday with papers that we would like art maret points for art work that we did in class and our free draw paper.

  • im the worst drawer in 5th grade and i still cant get it and as you can see the comment i typed before i typed black bely girl age 11 in stead of black belt girl age 11
