Spongebob Squarepants is one of the most popular cartoon shows of all times. My kids love the show (and so do I). Do you want to learn how to draw Spongebob’s driving teacher, Mrs. Puff? She is the boat driving instructor that is always so frustrated with Spongebob. I will help you draw her with easy-ish step-by-step drawing instructions. Here are our previous Spongebob Squarepants tutorials.
Start off the drawing of Mrs. Puff by simply drawing the basic shapes that make up her form. For example, the shape of her body is the shape of a lima bean (an oval that is wider at the bottom and narrower at the top). Then near the bottom, draw triangles (fins) that turn inwards. Draw a vertical line down the center of Mrs. Puff (for a guideline), then draw another guideline between the center line that you drew and the left edge of Mrs. Puff’s body.
Draw Mrs. Puff’s eyes by drawing 2 ovals … one on the vertical center line that you drew in step #1. I drew blue guidelines just to show you that Mrs. Puff’s left eye is higher than the eye on the right. You don’t need to draw the guidelines if you don’t feel that you need to.
Now lets focus on finishing up the eyes. Draw a circle on the left side of each eye…and fill it in. This will be Mrs. Puff’s pupils. Also draw her eyelids by drawing curved lines on each eye. The way that her eyelids are turned up and in (like an upside down ‘v’) shows that she is concerned or worried about something … my guess is something that Spongebob Squarepants did.
Draw a curved line under each eye. Also lets draw her lips. I put blue guidelines int he picture just to show you where to place the lips. Notice that the lips are in line with the bottom of the left eye and in line with the right side of the left eye’s pupil. Draw the lips by drawing a backwards number ‘3’ shape.
Now draw the inner lips (which I guess is Mrs. Puff’s lipstick). The inner lips are draw by drawing a curvy letter ‘m’ shape on the top of the lips and a curvy letter ‘w’ like shape on the bottom lip.
Now draw the outline shape of Mrs. Puff’s body. You already drew this in step #1, but now it is time to refine the lines to make sure they are correct. The arrows above are to show you that the distance from the bottom of Mrs. Puff’s mouth to her shirt line is the same distance as from the top of her eyes to the bottom of her lips. Keep things proportional and your finished Mrs. Puff drawing will look better when completed.
