Now draw the swirl of hair that is on the top of Flapjack’s head.
Draw a swirl by first drawing a sideways letter ‘J’ shape (you can see it in green above). Then drawing a letter ‘c’ shape (in red).
Remember the circle face that you sketched in step #1, well now redraw the top of the head with a more confident, sure-of-yourself line…as seen above.
Now draw Flapjack’s ears. Notice that the ears are drawn a little bit below the center horizontal guideline. You can draw the ears by drawing a letter ‘c’ and a backwards letter ‘c’ shape.
Now draw Flapjack’s head. On the left-top side of Flapjack’s head, draw his sailor hat. Draw a line slanting to the right…then move towards the left on Flapjack’s head and draw a line slanting towards the left. Then draw a curved line connecting both lines…now you should have a shape that looks like the above hat / cap.
Draw an upside down letter ‘u’ on top of the cap to finish off the sailor’s hat for Flapjack. Also draw a curl on both sides of the head by drawing a letter ‘u’ shape on both sides of his head.
Draw an inwards curved line from the curl to the ear on both sides of the head, as seen above.
Draw the bottom of Flapjack’s head as well as his neck.
