Step 6
Now draw an upside down letter ‘J’ like shape (yellow). Draw waves-looking shapes – or a cursive letter ‘c’ like shape (purple).
Step 7
Now draw a curvy ‘w’ like shape at the bottom of the wing (purple) and a bunch of curvy lines (green) which looks like 2 curvy ‘w’s. Draw a curvy line connecting the top to the bottom of the wing (in pink).
Step 8
Draw a bunch of curvy lines for the parrot’s under-belly (in pink). Draw the stick that the parrot is perched on by drawing an oval below the wing (purple) as a much smaller oval to the right of the parrot’s underbelly. Then connect both of these ovals with 2 lines.
Step 9
Draw an ‘s’ (purple) for the start of the Parrot / Macaw’s claws. Draw the bottom feathers by drawing 2 letter ‘W’ like shapes (in pink).
Step 10
Finish off the parrot’s claws by drawing 2 backwards letter ‘c’ like shapes.
Step 11
Now just erase lines that you don’t need and outline the ‘correct’ lines with a black pen or marker. Making thick, interesting lines instead of the thin pencil lines makes quite a difference in the end result, doesn’t it? If you are having problems figuring out which lines to erase, then reference my drawing (above) for help. Now you will have an amazing cartoon drawing of a cartoon whimsical parrot / macaw to show off to your friends.
