Step 7

Now draw a sideways letter ‘s’ like shape (highlighted in purple) down the gorilla’s back. For the right arm…draw a rectangle (highlighted in yellow)…on the left side of the rectangle, draw a triangle shape. For the left arm, draw 2 flattened letter ‘s’ like shapes.

Step 8

Now to finish off the right arm / hand. Draw 2 zig-zaggy letter ‘M’s (highlighted in red). Draw a letter ‘s’ shape (highlighted in blue) and then draw a sideways letter ‘s’ (highlighted in green) underneath it for the gorilla’s thumb. Draw a sideways, backwards letter ‘J’ shape (highlighted in pink).

Step 9

For the left arm. draw zig-zaggy letter ‘M’ shapes (highlighted in red). Then draw a sideways letter ‘c’ shape (highlighted in purple) for the hand. On the left side of the arm, under the oval shape, draw a letter ‘L’ shape (highlighted in yellow). On the back side of the gorilla, draw a curved line that turns into a letter ‘T’ shape at the bottom.  Reference the picture above.

Step 10

Now for the back foot, draw a backwards number 3 (highlighted in aqua) followed by a letter ‘w’ shape (highlighted in purple).

Step 11

Now for finishing touches. Draw a sideways letter ‘L’ (highlighted in yellow) above the back foot. Draw another letter ‘L’ shape (highlighted in green) above the yellow one. On the right side of the left arm draw a backwards ‘L’ shape (highlighted in red) and a sideways letter ‘T’ shape.

Step 12 – Finished Drawing of a Cartoon Gorilla

Now just erase lines that you don’t need and outline the ‘correct’ lines with a black pen or marker. Making thick, interesting lines instead of the thin pencil lines makes quite a difference in the end result, doesn’t it? Now you will have an amazing cartoon drawing of a cartoon whimsical hippo to show off to your friends.
