Drawing Trains in One Point Perspective with Easy Step by Step Tutorial

Page : 1 2 3

Step 12

Now draw a few lines to the vanishing point as I did.

Step 13

Now draw a line from the top and from the bottom of the circle to the vanishing point to make a cylinder shape.

Step 14

Close off the cylinder by drawing a second, smaller circle, like I did. Then erase the parts of the circle that you don’t need. Also draw a vase type shape at the bottom of the circle.

Step 15

Now draw 2 vertical lines at the top of the bigger cylinder. Now draw a line from the center-bottom of the vase type shape to the bottom point of the triangle at the front of the train.

Step 16

Now draw the top of the stack (cylinder). Draw a curved line to close the cylinder that you just drew and then draw 2 outward pointed diagonal lines with and connect it to a larger curved line.

Step 17

Now draw a bunch of oval wheels that get smaller as they get farther away (except for the 2nd wheel).

Step 18

See the horizon line behind everything (green)…draw a curved line from the vertical lines that hit the green horizon line ( as seen above).

Step 19

Now draw cylinders at either side of the vase-like shape (draw a circle and then draw lines to the vanishing point…then draw a smaller circle in the back and erase the lines that you don’t need … reference steps #12 – #14)

Step 20 – Finished Drawing of a Locomotive Train 1-Point Perspective Lesson

Erase the lines that you don’t need and darken the ‘right’ lines. Make things look less like they were drawn with a ruler by giving the drawing some flavor and personality.
