At first I thought that it would be easiest to get all the parts to work together if we draw the front and back half of our Gryphon on separate sheets of paper and then put the eagle half over the lion half, moving them around 'till we get something that looks reasonable.
Fold the paper. You need to fold like a mailing letter, in three even pieces with two creases down the middle.
Draw a griffin.
For our second fantasy lesson, I just had to go with the griffin (also spelled 'gryphon' or 'griffon') - by far one of my favorite creatures of this type.
You will start this first step on how to draw a cartoon griffin by drawing the guidelines and shapes like you always do with other tutorial first steps. First draw a circle shape for the head and then add the facial guidelines. You will then draw a dash for the neck and then draw the arched shapes for the wings of the griffin. Draw another shape that looks like an egg for the body and then add the leg and feet shapes.
Okay lets start this first step by drawing out some basic guidelines and shapes to form a mannequin like frame for your griffon.
