Written-Out Step by Step Drawing Instructions
(Steps 1 – 4) Draw the basic shapes that make up the pointing hand. All blue lines in this tutorial are guide lines. Draw guide lines lightly as they are there to guide you but will be erased at the end.
(Step 5) Draw a letter ‘U’ shape for one of the fingers.
(Step 6) Draw a question mark shape on the thumb.
(Step 7) Draw a letter ‘j’ shape for the fingers on either side of the first finger that you drew. They are both shorter than the middle finger.
(Step 8) Draw the outer line of the thumb…using the guide lines that you drew to help you along. Draw a letter ‘j’ shape for the last finger…making it the shortest of all of the fingers.
(Step 9) Draw a curved line at the end of the thumb. Then draw part of a ‘?’ shape for the end of the palm and the start of the wrist.
(Step 10) Draw a letter ‘U’ shape at the end of the thumb.
(Step 11) Draw curved lines.
(Step 12) Draw some more curved lines and a line on the top of the wrist.
(Step 13) Erase guide lines and then you are done.
