How to Draw Mushu Dragon from Mulan with Step by Step Drawing Lesson
Step 1
Step 1) Draw two circles for the eyes and one smaller for the nose. Add irises to the eye-balls.
Step 2
Step 2) Adjust the shape of the nose and draw the nostrils, then draw the eyebrows and draw the contour of the eyes. Erase the lines we don’t need anymore.

Step 3
Step 3) Mark a circle with the center right below the nose and between the nostrils and draw only lower left quarter of that circle and add another curve to it starting from the eyeball – that will mark the lower jaw (see the picture), then for the upper jaw mark a rectangle with rounded corners, from the left side of the marked circle to the center of the marked circle (between nostrils), then add detail to the eyes – add two short lines below (see the picture)
Step 4
Step 4) Now, draw the horns, the tongue, the mouth, the chick, and add some more detail – the hair below the nose (like mustaches), and the lip.
Step 5
Step 5) Draw the teeth, the ear, and the furry chicks.
Step 6
Step 6) Continue with the ear, add whiskers, and get down to the body. To draw the body it would be very helpful to make some guiding marks, so to draw the neck mark two ovals start from a smaller one right along the curve of the lower jaw (see the picture), then draw another oval around like it is shown in he picture and draw the neck. When finished, mark one more smaller oval and a circle – notice position of the ovals and the circle (see the picture). The hight of the dragon is about two bigger ovals.
Step 7
Step 7) Now, using the guiding marks we made in step 6 draw the body and the tail. Then, draw the leg (see the picture) – notice the place of the heel.
Step 8
Step 8) Now, continue with the legs and feet. To mark the shape of the feet draw three waving curves (see the picture). When done, move to the arms, mark the line coming out of the center of the smallest circle (that we drew in step 6, where the tail is). the line is perpendicular to the symmetry line of the oval (see the picture). Stop at the center of the chest of the dragon, and from that point draw the arms.
Erase all mark and guiding lines to clean up your drawing.
Step 9
Step 9) Continue drawing the body, the arms. Draw another leg and add one more waving curve to the feet.
Step 10
Step 10) Draw the toes and the hands. Clean up your drawing. Go down to details.
Step 11
Step 11) Continue adding more detail, draw talons, the striped belly, and the hackles. Clean up your drawing when finished
Step 12
Final step) Clean up you drawing – make lines look clean and smooth, erase all auxiliary marks and lines.
Step 13
Drawing is ready for coloring! 🙂
