Today, we will show you how to draw Clifford, the Big Red Dog from the book and the PBS / Sprout TV show for young kids and preschoolers. I will show you how to draw Clifford in easy steps and with simple shapes and forms. Have fun.

How to Draw Clifford The Big Red Dog with Step by Step Drawing Lesson
Step 1
First draw 2 ovals.
Step 2
Now draw 2 ovals for eyes…notice how they lay on the sideways ovals that you drew in the previous step.
Step 3
Now draw and fill in circles within each eye (they are partially cut off by the bottom of the eye. Also start drawing the bridge of the nose…part of the oval that you drew in the first step.
Step 4
Draw a rounded triangle shape for the nose. Draw a curvy letter ‘w’ or sideways number ‘3’ for the top of the mouth.
Step 5
Draw zig-zaggy lines for Clifford’s eyebrows. Draw the ears as ovals or sideways letter ‘J’s. Draw lines at the op of the head for hear. Draw a sideways letter ‘J’ for the chin.
Step 6
Draw an oval for Clifford’s body. Draw a curvy line that turns into a letter ‘J’ for Clifford’s smile. Draw ovals for the 3 legs that you can see.
Step 7
Now draw an oval for the front arm’s attachment to the body. Draw a circle for the back thigh. Draw the tail (the left is a letter ‘s’ and the right side is a letter ‘J’)
Step 8
This is what Clifford should look like when he is complete.
Step 9
Color him in red and your picture is complete. I hope that you had fun and that your picture turned out great. 🙂
