How to Draw Eyes 3/4 View in Manga / Anime Illustration Style Drawing Tutorial
Drawing the eyeball in Three- Quarters View isn’t as hard as it sounds. You can use the eyeball itself can serve as the guideline.
Draw a sphere and make divisions (see fig. 2). By doing this kind of division, it can produce a 3 dimensional effect. The highlighted cross intersection will be the area where the iris / pupil will be placed. (see fig. 3)
Step 1
First, draw a circle, as pictured above.
Step 2
After drawing the sphere, you should then lightly sketch divisions around the eyeball (as if they were wrapping around it). By doing this kind of division, it can produce a 3 dimensional effect.
Step 3
The highlighted cross intersection will be the area where the iris / pupil will be placed. (see fig. 3)

Now that we showed you the basic drawing of the Anime / Manga 3/4 view eye, we will now go into more detail. When drawing the eye, make it a habit to start with an imaginary eyeball. To see the drawing and construction method, please observe these following steps. Be aware of the underlying sphere when drawing the eye lids. It should conform to the shape of the eyeball.
Step 1
Draw the sphere and guidelines as you learned above. Also lightly sketch 3 vertical lines to help you place the lids.
Step 2
Now draw the lids by using the lines that you drew above.
Step 3
Now draw the eyelashes, and 3 separate circles…one will be filled in black, and the 2 others will be highlights.
Step 4
Color in the eyes.
Step 5 : Draw the face around the 3/4 eye view
Now place the eye into your Manga / Anime character.
