Do you love your toy teddy bear and want to learn how to draw one? We have put together a simple tutorial detailing how to draw a bigger teddy bear, hugging a smaller toy teddy bear. It is something that you will be able to do, because we give instructions for building up the bear’s form with simple shapes, letters, and numbers. So, kids, teens, and adults will all be able to finish this cartooning lesson with success. Good luck.

How to Draw Comic Teddy Bear Holding a Toy Teddy Bear with Easy Cartoon Drawing Lesson

Step 1

First draw a tall oval with a smaller, wide oval in it.

Step 2

Draw an upside down triangle at the top of the smaller oval. Draw two circles above the smaller oval. These will be the teddy bear’s eyes.

Step 3

Draw a circle with a smaller circle within it, on both sides of the head. The dashed lines represent lines that will be erased.

Step 4

Draw a sideways number ’3′ under the bear’s nose. Then draw a letter ‘u’ like shape under the ’3′ shape. Then draw a small circle, slightly below and to the right of the bear’s head. This will be the toy teddy bear’s head.

Step 5

Now draw the right ear on the toy teddy bear (part of a circle). Draw an oval with a smaller oval within it for the smaller, toy teddy bear’s body.

Step 6

Now draw the bear’s left ear (by drawing part of a circle)..then draw a ‘c’ like shape in each ear. Now draw a sideways letter ‘j’ like shape for the toy teddy bear’s right arm.

Step 7

Draw a backwards, sideways letter ‘j’ like shape for the bear’s left arm. Also draw a ‘c’ like shape that forms a circle like shape, on the toy teddy bear’s right arm.

Step 8

Now draw a backwards letter ‘c’ like shape that forms a circle like shape, on the toy teddy bear’s left arm. Also draw a letter ‘j’ like shape for the toy teddy bear’s right leg. Also draw an upside down letter ‘y’ like shape above the ‘j’ you just drew for the right leg.

Step 9

Draw an upside down, capital letter ‘R’ like shape for the toy teddy bear’s left leg.

Step 10

Now start drawing the toy teddy bear’s face by drawing a circle inside his face. Draw an upside down triangle at the top of this circle. Also draw 2 circles above this circle for the toy teddy bear’s eyes.

Step 11

Now draw a sideways number ’3′ like shape under the bear’s nose and draw a letter ‘u’ like shape under the sideways number ’3′ shape.

Step 12

Now draw an oval or a rectangle for the big bear’s body. Draw a backwards letter ‘c’ for the big bear’s left arm.

Step 13

Now draw a letter ‘c’ for the big bear’s right arm. Also draw a backwards letter ‘c’ for the bear’s hand. He is holding the toy teddy bear.

Step 14

Now draw a letter ‘c’ like shape on the big teddy bear’s right arm. Also draw 2 upside down letter ‘u’ like shapes for the bear’s thumbs.

Step 15

Now draw a sideways letter ‘j’ behind the thumb (on both sides)…reference the picture above.

Step 16

Now draw an oval on both sides of the bear (for his feet). Make the ovals slanting outwards.

Step 17

Now make a curve at the top of each oval foot (to add depth).

Step 18

Now draw an oval at the bottom of both feet. Then draw a line slanted inwards from the bottom of both feet. And draw a smaller line for the top of each leg.

Now just erase lines that you don’t need and outline the ‘correct’ lines with a black pen or marker. Making thick, interesting lines instead of the thin pencil lines makes quite a difference in the end result, doesn’t it?
