Hippos are a popular animal to cartoon as cute animals. However, did you know that in nature they are very dangerous, violent animals. Either way, I thought that it would be fun to draw cartoon hippos today so I have put together a simple step by step tutorial for kids of all ages, teens, and adults.

Hippopotamus means "river horse." The hippo, (medium weight 1.800 kgs / 4.000 pounds) lives in Africa. They are hoofed vegetarians, feeding on grass, fallen fruit, and occasionally on cultivated crops. They spend most of the day in the water. However they can live on land as well.
